Comment:  This article  examines both the osmolarity and the sodium content of chelation therapy bottles when prepared using available intravenous fluid carriers including:  5% dextrose, normal saline (.9% NaCl), 1/2 normal saline (.45% NaCl) and sterile water.  Recommendations are made on when to use the various intravenous mixtures.
